about
This song was originally recorded as a one-off single for Live & Amplified's 2016 48 Hour Song Challenge in October 2016.
The theme of the contest was "Winter Season" and each participating band was asked to write a song in the vein of another artist. We were assigned The Police.
lyrics
Although we are an instrumental band, we sometimes write lyrics or narratives to accompany our music in order to give it more depth:
EARTH BROTHERS – “Leaves to Ice”
(Verse 1)
Summer was greener in my head, Fall fell to Winter and I’m missing things you said. Snow falls outside but the sun sets instead. The seasons change while the memories re-thread.
(Chorus)
Leaves to Ice, cold days give way to sleepless nights. How could I leave this all behind? Never too far in dreams; our endless plight.
How could I leave this all behind? You were never too far in dreams when the end came around again. Leaves to Ice.
(Verse 2)
Summer was greener in my head, Fall fell to Winter our memory a common thread. As the seasons change I wonder where I’ll end up next. Leaves to ice, cold days give way to sleepless nights. As the seasons change cold days give way to sleepless nights.
(Chorus)
Leaves to Ice, cold days give way to sleepless nights. How could I leave this all behind? Never too far in dreams; our endless plight.
How could I leave this all behind? You were never too far in dreams when the end came around again. Leaves to Ice.

On his first EP, Kelly Williams weaves crystal clear melancholy riffs (akin to late 90's emo/math rock) with poignant vocalization concerning everything from the afterlife to fairweather musicians. Earth Brothers
